10x Visium:

  • High-throughput spatial transcriptomics platform
  • Single-cell resolution (spot size ~55um)
  • Genome-wide gene expression profiling
  • Compatible with multiple sample types (fresh frozen and FFPE)

Visium for Fresh Frozen:

  • High genome coverage (typically >90%)
  • High quality RNA sequencing data
  • Can detect novel transcripts and alternative splicing events


Visium for FFPE:

  • Lower genome coverage than Visium for fresh frozen due to degraded nature of FFPE samples
  • Enables analysis of archived clinical specimens
  • Suitable for identifying gene expression changes in disease tissues
